  • Three different entertaining & informative gay tours around the city that will be running all week:
    Carry on Cruising. Recent and past history of the Brighton Gay Scene (about an hour and a half)
    Haunted Gay Pubs. For pro-active drinkers featuring Ghost Stories connected with local pubs.
    Carry on Camping. Brighton’s gay show business history, finishing at a gay pub.
    Meet: outside Tourist Information Centre, Bartholomew Square, Brighton. All walks presented by Malcolm Campbell: 07792 934 914. Costs £5 (inc £2 to Pride).
    • BLAGSS School Sports Day, 3pm to 6.30pm FREE. Dorset Gardens, Brighton. Organised by Brighton Lesbian and Gay Sports Society: egg and spoon; sack race; drag race and a bit of camp with the handbag throwing competition. Teams or individuals. Picnic tea afterwards.       12 heat winners from pub, clubs and the voluntary sector battle it out to find Brighton’s brightest. Hosted by Lola Lasagne with Dean from Legends as the Quiz Master.     • Pride Benefit Cabaret Night at the Joogleberry Playhouse 9pm Raising money for Pride. 14-17 Manchester St, Brighton. T 01273 625619. Dame Margot Hamilton hosts a fun evening of cabaret and variety entertainment. Hot from the London review circuit is Biddie (aka James Biddlecombe) of Biddie & Eve fame.     • The Great Free Debate at the Old Market, 6pm FREE EVENT. 11a, Upper Market St, Brighton T. 01273 736 222. Pride Great Debate this year stars an all lesbian panel. Comedienne Donna McPhail will pitch against Kitten of Big Brother fame. Other panellists include the country’s only lesbian Rabbi. It’s run like the BBC’s Question Time so questions can be submitted in advance to office@brightonpride.org or tabled on the night. The mass debate is being aired live on BBC Southern Counties Radio from 7pm.
