Up North Pride takes place from the 28th September to the 2nd October 2022.
Traverse City’s official LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration and Michigan’s Premier Destination Pride event is taking place throughout downtown Traverse City, and it goes by the name of Up North Pride.
2022 marks the ninth year of the celebration, with a continued mission of making the region a more diverse, inclusive and safe place for everyone.
The line up of festivities varies with options of entertainment, food and drink, live performances plus more---and the majority free to the public or with suggested donation. The week-long event includes the largest participant-driven LGBTQ Pride March in the state, along with additional exciting events.
PRIDE RIDE / SIGN MAKING PARTY
SEPTEMBER 28TH
6pm-9pm @ F&M park and The Little Fleet
Join us at F&M park in your bike gear and pride gear for a spirited ride through downtown led by Norte and ending at The Little Fleet for our annual Sign Making Party. The Sign Making Party is your chance to make a statement and prepare for the Pride Visibility March on Saturday. The ride will begin at 6pm, so please join us before 6 to rally up! All ages are welcome.
PRIDE POOLSIDE, SEPTEMBER 29TH
COMEDY NIGHT
SEPTEMBER 30TH
8pm-9:30pm City Opera House
Following our sold-out Comedy Night in 2021, Up North Pride is proud to bring back the musical comedic brilliance of Kristin Key, and national touring LGBTQ+ comedians Jeff D and Jen Kober at a larger venue! The show will run for approximately 90 minutes. Tickets are $20.
All ages are welcome, but parental discretion is advised.

Visibility Rally and March
OCTOBER 1ST
4 pm - 5 pm @ F&M Park
Join us for the largest participant-driven 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride March in Michigan, beginning at F&M Park and proudly walking through downtown to The Open Space. The rally will start at 4 pm with keynote speakers, and among this year's Grand Marshalls will be Michigan's first openly gay Senator, Jeremy Moss. Marching will follow the kickoff speeches.
DRAG NIGHT
OCTOBER 1ST
After the Visibility March @ The Open Space
Join us at the Open Space, immediately following the Visibility March, for a drag-tastic event! Come and throw some dollar bills at national, regional, and local death-dropping drag artists. Drag Night will be hosted by local drag king and fan favourite, Ben Eaton–sure to astound. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase on-site. Come dressed in Pride gear, drag, or any gender expression you’re vibing with that night. It’s going to be a Pride party like this city has never seen before. Parental guidance is advised.
SILENT DISCO
OCTOBER 1ST
10 pm - Midnight @ The Open Space
The party continues with the iconic Silent Disco under the stars—all attendees will be given headphones specially designed to keep the party going after hours. Our friends at 2Bays Productions will host three DJs competing for your dance moves!
Join us for a beautiful evening of fun and entertainment along Grand Traverse Bay. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase throughout the event. Parental guidance is advised.
BIG GAY BRUNCH
OCTOBER 2ND
11am-2pm @ The Open Space
We’re ending Pride Week right with a delectable Big Gay Brunch and Picnic. Local food and beverages can be purchased on-site, with opportunities to interact with local non-profit booths. The event will feature live local music styling and family-friendly activities.
