Lords inquiry told: Climate change is "weapon of mass destruction"

Global warming is "biggest threat to world's economy in 21st century," Green expert tells House of Lords inquiry

A leading Green academic will tell a House of Lords inquiry into climate change that the European Union and the UK government are "fiddling while Rome burns."

The written response to the inquiry into the EU's climate policy, to be published tomorrow by the Green Party, will say:
- Climate change is the biggest threat to the EU's economy in coming decades - No EU country is taking climate change seriously enough
